Yr 5/6 Sportshall Athletics @ Burnside College

Over 70 year 5/6 pupils attended the second of the preliminary rounds of the Sportshall Athletics competitions at Burnside College with the support of 24 fantastic sports leaders from the College.

The team are not able to run competitions without a young leader workforce and when the young leaders that support us are as pleasant and as hardworking and the Burnside College students were it really does make a whole world of difference! So we would just like to say…

Thank you!

The young people taking part in the compeition performed extremley well, showing real grit & determination to do the best that they could & do their school teams proud, particularly as this was the first time some of the young people had participated in any of the sportshall athletics events before!

Well done to each and every young person from Carville Primary, Redesale Primary, Riverside Primary & St Columbas Primary.

Redesdale Primary performed particularly well, and overall gained a 200+ point lead, with the girls and boys teams winning overall in both the track & the field.

Mr Shackleton, PE Coordinator at Redesdale Primary School said,

“Thanks so much for Friday afternoon – the kids loved it!”
