KS3 Badminton CVLs

It was the start of key stage 3 badminton leagues on Tuesday & Wednesday evening this week.  Players from Churchill, George Stephenson, Longbenton & St Thomas More arrived eagerly to the courts at Churchill to take part in the beginning of their league.

In the boys competition there are 5 teams, who on Tuesday evening, all played in either 2 or 3 matches . The A team from St Thomas More looked strong, after winning both of their matches, not dropping a single game. In the girls competition, its all still to play for with George Stephenson and the A team from St. Thomas More both currently sitting on 3 matches won with 2 more to play. St. Thomas More however have that slight edge having won 13 of their 15 games played within their matches and George Stephenson winning just 11 of their 15 falling just two games behind.

Players from John Spence, Kings Priory Marden Bridge, Marden High, Valley Gardens, Wellfield & Whitley Bay begin their campaign in their key stage 3 league on Wednesday evening.

The girls team from John Spence won two out of the two played, as did the Kings Priory A team. Wellfield B team did the same, however lost in their third game against the B team from John Spence. In the boys league, the A team from Marden High stand out having won both of their matches that they’ve played, not dropping a single game.

There’s still lots more matches to be played over the next couple of months.

We’re elated that in total we have 33 key stage 3 teams involved in this year’s CVLs!

We have asked school staff to support us by hosting & running matches on their school sites but have also added new dates to ensure all fixtures can be fulfilled ahead of the North Tyneisde final which will now be taking place in January. These dates will be shared with staff in due course.
