Exciting evening of Badminton

Boys and girls teams in key stage 4 from Burnside, Churchill, Lonbenton & St. Thomas More joined the team on Tuesday evening for the first of the Badminton CVLs at Churchill.

7 boys teams & 5 girls teams, who are viying for a place at the final in January played in teams of 4, playing in 5 games within a match against another school team – two singles games & three doubles games. The best of the three means that team takes the match.

The boys A team from Burnside College, having played three matches, have won all three, with three more still to play. Following not far behind them, having played 4 matches, have won three but have lost one to Burnside’s A team. Longbenton, also look strong having just played two matches, they have won both with 4 more still to play. In the girls competition St. Thomas More’s A & B teams seem to be dominating having won both of the matches they have played, not dropping a single game.

At the final we will bring together the top two boys and girls teams from each age group, across both the leagues at Churchill & at John Spence in order to establish the best players and teams in North Tyneside.

Stay tuned for the progress of the key stage 4 competition as well as the key stage 3 competitions which are yet to begin.
