Congratulations! You are a Platinum Mark School

This year 4 new schools applied and achieved the Platinum School Games Mark award! That’s a total of 8 schools in North Tyneside with the Platinum status, demonstrating  consistently high standards within their school sport provision.

Congratulations to, Bailey Green Primary, Burradon Primary, Marden Bridge Middle & Valley Gardens Middle who have all been successful in their applications!

Cullercoats Primary, the first school in North Tyneside to have achieved the award back in 2016/17 reapplied this year and again were successful.  Churchill College, Benton Dene Primary & John Spence were North Tyneside’s Platinum award winners in 2017/18 & carry over their status into new academic year. Platinum schools must achieve the Gold mark award for 5 consecutive years including this year, as well demonstrating their school’s achievements through case study evidence around one of three areas.

A futher 49 schools applied for the award at gold, silver and brozne level and were all successful in their applications.  There were a number of new schools to the award, schools who have moved up through the 3 levels or schools who had maintained their mark award level from the previous year.  A full list of schools achieving the award can be found here. The award is in recognition of school’s commitment to and development of competition, school sport physical education & physcal activity. Achieving the award is testimony to all the tremdous work that schools do for the young people in their care. Well done all!
