Yr 5/6 Sportshall Athletics at North Gosforth Academy

It was the 7th preliminary Yr 5/6 Sportshall Athletics competition that the PE team hosted on Wednesday at North Gosforth Academy. All four feeder primary schools were in attendance which made for a very competitive afternoon! And this was actually the  highest attendance figure we have ever had histroically at this cluster competition!

The event couldn’t have ran without the support from 17 fantastic year 10 sports leaders. They interacted and comminicated superbly with the young people and staff from the primary schools. This was the first time that many of the year 5/6s and the primary school staff had actually seen and been involved with indoor athletics events and the leaders did a great job of enabling them to participate & achieve. They gave lots of encouragement and tips to improve their performance.

The team from Fordley Primary School finished in first place, followed closely by the team from Greenfields Primary School.

A huge well done to all young people who competed and a massive thank you to North Gosforth Academy for their support in ensuring this competition ran so smoothly.
