Sportshall athletics season is upon us!

We kicked off the sportshall athletics season on Tuesday at Marden Bridge Middle School for the first of 8 year 5/6 competitions running throughout October and November. These are team competitions and boys & girls compete in track & field events which they are selected for by their teachers. Each result achieved equates to a points score. All points scores are then combined to gain a overall winning school team. All results from across all 8 competition will be compared & the top school teams will be invited to a North Tyneside final in December.

In attendace were pupils from Marden Bridge Middle themselves, Monkseaton Middle, Monkhouse Primary, Wellfield Middle & Valley Gardens Middle and we think a couple of schools teams may be invited to the final from this competition! The standard was high, with some very close races on the track & excellent performces in the field with some boys jumping over 5 and a half metres in the standing triple jump!

16 students from Monkseaton High school were part of the workforce for this event and did a great job of officiating.
